Hallmark Care Homes sponsor Barleylands Charity Funwalk for the 4th year!
Date of article: 16 April 2014
Set in beautiful parkland, the Fun Walk raises money for charities, during a fun filled afternoon of family entertainment.
Hallmark Care Homes are generously sponsoring the event and hope to encourage their employees, friends and family and all local people to get involved and help raise lots of money for their chosen fund; The Care Workers Charity, the rainy day fund for everyday heroes.
The Care Workers charity supports current, former and retired care professionals who through no fault of their own are facing difficult financial times.
Andrea Astle of the charity said “The care sector is such a hugely dedicated and selfless workforce and we are here to support those who support others. The Barleylands Funwalk provides a great opportunity for people to have a lovely day out and easily raise funds to support our work.”
In 2013 the Fun Walk raised almost £100,000 for 110 projects – bringing the total raised to over £537,000 since the Fun Walk’s inception in 2002.
There will be live music, a superb BBQ courtesy of 'Team Handsome', other refreshments, a large barn for charity stalls – and lots of treats for little ones!
There’ll be two walks to choose from on the day, one being a circular route of 3 miles around Crays hill, the second takes place within Barleylands Farm and is suitable for toddlers, families and the disabled. Both start (at the same time) and finish at Barleylands Farm.
The event starts at 12pm, with the walk starting at 1pm and finishing up around 3pm. So get together with colleagues, family and friends and sign up to a fantastic fun filled day. For further details contact Cathrine Robinson at Hallmark Care Homes, Tel: 01277 655655.
The Care Professionals Benevolent Fund continue to provide the upmost discretion to all those who have applied for support from the fund. We are sincerely grateful to all grant recipients who have allowed us to share their story, where applicable names have been changed to maintain anonymity.
